English Bulldog blows out candles on his birthday cake!

Happy Birthday Dozer!  When this lucky English Bulldog has a birthday he does it in style.  He can sense when there’s going to be a party in his honor and he’ll sit at the kitchen table for hours waiting for cake.   He tears away at wrapped presents like a seasoned pro and even blows out his own candles on his dog friendly birthday cake complete with peanut butter frosting and dog bone decorations!

He knows what he wants!

I took this video of him on his fifth birthday.  In past years, he has always had a dog friendly cake of some kind, complete with candles, the happy birthday to him song and presents to rip open.  Literally.  After he gets through the paper and cardboard, he’s one lean (or not so much), mean (not at all) stuffed toy killing machine!

This year however, when presenting him with his mega dog bone cake he was really huffing and puffing with excitement and so we thought it would be funny if he blew out the candles.  Almost on command with a little snort of his bully nose he blew out all five candles!  It was such a funny moment, and you can hear us all cheering him on after with plenty of somewhat nonsensical dogs talk.  Once we got the candles off, I just had to let him scarf on his birthday bone a little bit before the gifts.

After all the fun and excitement a bulldog can have in one short burst, he can usually be found on the porch, belly up in a sunspot next to the woodstove, snoring away.  That’s what ALL bulldogs do best! Please like us on Facebook.
